Week four we spent the couple of days before we headed down back into the U.S training on an awesome hole/wave called Pushbutton. Normally Pushbutton is just a hole but we got lucky the level was just perfect to make it more of a wave then a hole so we could do some small wave training to prepare us for the route 3 wave. We practiced carving blunts and roundhouses trying get as many point in one ride and under 60 seconds as we could. We went to the competition a couple of days early so we could train on the Route 3 wave. The day before the competition I left my gear on the grass to dry and when I came back it had been stolen so I had to borrow a skirt and PFD from On competition day everyone did surprisingly well for how flushy the wave was and for to no surprise Dane Jackson took first. In the men’s pro division everyone was amazed to see airscrew’s, super clean blunts, helix’s both ways and mcnasty’s. Brian Kirk took first place with an insane 113 points he was also the only one to throw helixes in both directions. After the competition there was an after party which was really fun they made themes each night one of my favorites was Blues night. We left in the morning on the next day and headed back to the keener campsite. Once back everyone was all excited about being back on the big wave but only a few of us ended up going out that night. Everyone that didn’t go out missed out big time cause babyface was so perfect there was a perfect curler off of the left side making it awesome for right blunts and pan-ams.
